The Yellow Belt is the Belt of Commitment.
In here, we want to tackle your fear enough for you to be able to overshoot freestanding and bail.
To do that, we will need to become more and more comfortable in overshot alignment, and learn and automate a bailing mechanism that will guarantee your survival when things go wrong.
If you have a very defensive nervous system, you will have to prove it that you indeed will be safe no matter what happens upside down.
The easier way to introduce the bail is B2W.
In this module, we see the 101 of bailing B2W, as well as all progressions, current and future, for the C2W bail.

Try both.
See which progression is achievable C2W.
Report in your homework.
Since our mission in the yellow belt is to get extremely comfortable in the middle of the room, fear is going to be at the forefront of our priorities.
Remember, we tackle fear by:
- exposing ourselves to the void
- practicing the safety mechanism (a cartwheel called bailing in handstands)
Bailing is comprised of two actions, which are usually learnt separately:
- the leg swap, allowing to bring the leading leg to the floor
- the hand movement, allowing us to bail later
Which side to practice on
By default, you WANT to bail on the side of the back, leading, swinging leg. If for some reason the opposite side feels more natural to you, please let me know and we will discuss this.
In the video above, I show how the bail tethered to the wall will grow into one you trigger automatically when you go too far.
For now, practice your bail at shaping distance, with one foot on the wall, rehearsing your hand movement and a soft landing (remember the landing mechanics?).
