This word may be bringing back some shivering memories.
Elevators are the GDBD (good dog bad dog) big sister, and by far my number one favorite drill of all times.
The rationale here is quite simple:
your default shape is hardly open shoulders (you may be an exception, in which case you may skip the Elevator part)… but piked positions are open.
To hold them today (step 1), and be able to kick-up into them directly tomorrow, you’re going to have to travel from your comfortable, default shoulder angle, to an open shoulder angle.
This is the essence of an elevator.

3 types of elevators

Either B2W or C2W, we have three progressions for the elevators.
Only do the hardest one, and you’ll probably not progress.
Just like the new piked positions you’re learning, Elevators are in essence about you travelling from shape A (your home) to new positions (new airbnbs).
Before you can do that with ease, you’ll need to spend time getting used to the coordinates of said Airbnbs.
Spend time ON the wall in the positions you wish to travel into and out of tomorrow.
Spend time holding said positions OFF the wall.
THEN try to go from one to the other while off the wall.
We will ALWAYS refer to the following progressions:
  1. The continuum progression (ON WALL- see Gauntlet)
  1. The take-off progression (ON AND OFF WALL)
