You’ll have heard the term before: compression.
As a blue belt, I don’t want you to overthink it.
We want our legs as low as need for us to be able to kick-up into and balance with ease your pike position.
Compression is what we will do once you own your piked positions to make them better, or more optimal.
For now, compression, or pike depth, will simply refer to how low the legs have to go.
 
IF the shoulders start moving forward when you lower your legs, you’re going too low!
