Module 2 is all about freezing that kick-up.
Freezing B2W refers to the ability to stop your kick-up in its tracks for a split second or so, stopping the momentum entirely before relaxing into the fall and landing on the wall.
This involves: Finger timing, momentum, alignment…
Freezing is therefore harder than decelerating a kick-up but easier than floating for, say, 3 seconds and then landing.

A freezing, or frozen, kick-up can only be achieved if the 4 layers of your handstand lasagna kick-up are of decent quality: momentum, alignment, tension and fingers.

A frozen kick-up insists on the timing of the finger pushing. A second too early, and you will undershoot. A second too late and you will not freeze.
A frozen kick-up is the top tier of kick-up technique, so… well done for making it this far, this is a big achievement 🥳!

🎯 Your priorities in this module are :

  • ensuring that your momentum is adequate
  • ensuring that your level of tension-engagement is good
  • working on how hard your fingers can press
  • working on body awareness and timing to press (and freeze) when needed.
