Bailing is our way out of a handstand gone wrong.
And it WILL go “wrong”.
We can not rely on the idea that we will always reach the perfect spot and never have to face our fears of falling.
Instead, we need to become masters at the art of falling so that we are always, always safe doing so.
This, in turn, will convince our nervous system that handstands are safe and can be practiced without the wall.
This is a prerequisite for your freestanding handstand.

Your practice of bailing relies on the following pillars:

C2W Floats
The C2W holds you are practicing will become C2W floats in due time.

FS regressions
But for the bailing part, make sure you are practicing both a wall-assisted variation of it, as well as freestanding regressions whenever you have the space to do so. The latter may not look like much, but they will go a long way in developing the confidence and proprioception you need to hold a handstand upside down.
